Accommodation
and Transport

Getting there/Transport options

  • Driving from Wellington - Either drive your own car, share a car with others, or hire/share a hire car. It takes roughly 1 hour to drive to Featherston from the Airport. Feel free to post on the WAI run fest FB group page if you are looking for others to share a car, or if you need a ride.
  • Train - There is a train service from Wellington Train Station to Featherston. From here it is 5km to the race course.
  • Bus - There is a bus service that takes you from Wellington, and this can drop you off outside the race course. I believe this bus also connects with the Featherston Train station.
  • Shuttle for after the WAI2K - We will organise a shuttle service for those staying at the race course for after the WAI2K to bring you back from Tunnel Gully. Tickets for this service will be available closer to race weekend for $15pp

The Tauherenikau Race course

The WAI2K starts/finishes at this location, and this area will be used as a base for the WAI2K weekend.

If you can stay here, I would recommend it! LINK HERE
