Overview
The Greytown Rail Trail WAI NOT? event is a fun day out. This event for 2021 is going to be split into a 55km or 101km category which you can run as a team, or solo. All runners just need to finish in either 5 hours for the 55km, OR 9 hours for the 101km. If you think you'll struggle doing it alone, enter as a team and smash out a lap (9.2km) each. If you enter the 101km, and lose steam on the day, you can downgrade to the 55km on the day.
Register online, and come along for the run. Winners on the day receive entries into the WAI2K event the following weekend.
This event is relatively no frills with half of proceeds going back to the Greytown Trails Trust. There will be Aid Stations, and support on the day.
The trail itself is relatively flat with a slight undulation along the way. You'll be surrounded by farms with livestock, with the stunning vistas of the Tararuas in the background. We encourage all entrants to raise money for charity in this event also.
Half of whatever is taken for the event will be going back to the Greytown Rails Trust, so by entering this, you are in turn supporting them! Win-Win!
