The Course
The Greytown Rail trail is roughly 4.5km long. We will be extending it slightly on the day (at Woodside end - start/finish) to make it up to 4.7km long. It's a relatively flat trail through beautiful farmlands. It's a fast, easy course but with a time limit you will need to push yourself!
The Rules on the day
- The WAINOT event is currently limited to 100 entrants per category for 2021. This may change closer to race day.
- Runners all start at 10am at Woodside end of the trail. Car parking is available at the Railway Station.
- Please be at race start/finish area by 9:15am to collect bibs, and sign in.
- Always keep to the LEFT along the trail
- Pace yourself. This is a timed event and your goal is to finish within the allocated time
- All runners have 9 hours to complete 11 laps OR 5 hours for 6 laps of the circuit (9.2km)
- The race will finish at 7pm. Please make your way to the start/finish area by this time.
- Respect all users of the trail as it will be open to walkers/runners/bikers on the day also
- REMEMBER: It's not all about winning, it's about giving it your best shot on the day! There are NO losers.
Timing
The race will be timed on the day, and all runners will wear timing bibs. Please make sure to run over the timing mats when you see them.

EARLYBIRD PRICING (First 25 solo/10 teams)
- Solo 101km: $80
- 101km Relay: $100
- Solo 55km: $45
- 55km Relay: $55

- 101km Relay: $125
- Solo 55km: $55

Start times/Location
- All runners will start from the Woodside end of the Rail Trail.
- The race kicks off at 10am for everyone. Please be at Start/Finish area by 9:15am to collect race bibs and sign in.
- Please make sure to stick to the LEFT along the trail at all times! Make sure to stick to the left and let faster runners through as they come. It could be a busy day on the trail so please respect each other at all times!
- Make sure to cross the timing mats along the trail
Age Limits
There will be no age limits for this event. Please note that all runners under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times. Runners under the age of 18 can run up to 20km but must have this signed off by a Parent/Guardian. If you do want to run further, this must be signed off by a parent/guardian prior to race day, and with approval from race officials. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed with permission from race organisers. Please note this is only to avoid congestion along the trail so we need to limit numbers.
Compulsory Gear
There will be no compulsory gear for this event, but if you are planning on running over 50km we advise you to have some gear/nutrition placed at an aid station or with a supporter just in case. Use a race/running vest also if you need to.
Please make sure you dress for the conditions. We will have sunblock at all aid stations also.
This event will be CUPLESS (NO cups at any aid stations), so you will need your own vessel (reusable foldable cup, OR water flask/bottle OR race vest with bottles/flasks). If your children are running, please supply them with something they can refill.
We recommend cups like this one We will have these available on race day morning to purchase.

Pacers
There are NO pacers allowed for this event as your friends and family can cheer you on along the way
Transfers/Changes/Refunds
- There is no transferring of entries for the WAI NOT, due to the nature of the event.
- There are NO REFUNDS on entries for this event, if you choose to withdraw.
Aid Station
The ONLY Aid Station will be at the Start/Finish end of the trail so will be at the 9.5km mark or so. The Aid Station will have Tailwind, coke, sweets, biscuits, chips, sandwiches, bananas, oranges, water, sunblock, first aid, sanitiser.

Food and Drinks
Food and drinks will be confirmed closer to the day.
Toilets
There will be port-a-loos at the Woodside end of the Rail Trail for all runners. Please use sanitiser after you go to keep it clean for the next person, and for yourself.
Prizes and prize giving
- Prize giving will be happening on the day, with spot prizes going.
- Winners on the day receive entries into the WAI2K event the following weekend.
- Runners up will receive WAI running festival merchandise.
After the event
We will be having drinks at a local pub so come along for a celebratory beverage after!
